Have a gbitswitch connected to a d-_link_ dir-655 router. i can only see outging messages when the laptop users uses lan. i think i can se in and out going (al least sometimes) if they using wireless connection.
in the router i have chosen the first of three options (Endpoint Independent in both TCP ond UDP) in advanced/firewall settings/NAT Endpoint Filtering

UDP Endpoint Filtering:
*Endpoint Independent

Address Restricted

Port And Address Restricted


TCP Endpoint Filtering:
*Endpoint Independent

Address Restricted

Port And Address Restricted

any suggestions?

We created a new algorithm to detect local to local packets, (currently local to local packets ignored)

ok any idea when it will be relesed?=)
im thinking of one thing. can the answers to my problem be that the laptops lan cards dosnt support promisious mode and the wireless card does? will try that anyway. MSN webcam recorder can only record outgoing and i know that the laptops only using wired connection atm so your software mayby working ok.
My new computer cant se anyting. not incoming or ourgoing or find any computers in switchsnarf and msn web...can se any traffic. maby it networkcard dosent support promisious mode ? onboard realtek 8111 something. (that computer isnt on now.) got to go to work. keep up the good work and please make a msn webcam recorder that is stable and can record sound =)

Hi,
you may try (un)promiscuous mode,
Select Options / Advanced / uncheck promiscuous mode,

Your network card will capture between Internet and own traffic.

new info: if the computer i want to sniff is online when i start switchsnarf and the network monitor i can only see outgoing traffic. if i restart the client computer i can see both in and outgoing traffic.
hope the next version will fix that.

any releasedate of the next version?

still intresting in a msn webcam recorder that is stable and can record sound =) the tip you gave me of msn webcamrecorder is unstable and i cant get any sound. the work with the app is down too =(
